Drilling Contractors
New MODU Construction
Our client was building two sixth-generation semi-submersibles to own and operate. A change in project drivers and geographic influences overrode the approach originally taken for topsides construction, integration, and commissioning of these units, which required a change in overall strategy, contract strategy, risk profile, budget forecasting, and project organisation.
Strategy Development
We redefined and developed an alternative strategy for the topsides integration, assisted in restructuring the project organisation, and developed work processes and procedures to control the projects moving forward.

We worked with senior management and the project management team to develop overall strategy, contract strategy, risk profile, budget forecast, and project organisation. We also developed work processes and procedures to control the project moving forward.

Our client was considering buying two sixth-generation semi-submersible drilling rigs under construction.

We performed an independent due diligence assessment of the construction projects, including overall strategy, project control, schedule status verification, costs, and technical issues, assisting the client in its decision about closing the purchase.
Tender Barge Upgrade
Our clients wanted to upgrade, repair and to conduct a life enhancement program to one of their Offshore Drilling Tender Barges.

We assisted our clients in defining the project in advance of the planning and execution phases.
Jack-Up Drilling Rig Upgrade
Our client wanted to upgrade and conduct a life enhancement program for one of their jack-up drilling rigs operating in West Africa.
Definition
We assisted our client in defining the upgrade project, which included new accommodations, crane upgrades and hull steel replacement. After we delivered the definition study to the client, the project was executed by the client's internal project staff in a West African shipyard.
Swamp Barge Reactivation
Our client wanted to assess the amount of work, time and cost to repair and re-activate a cold stacked drilling swamp barge in West Africa.
Definition
We assisted our client in defining the reactivation project for the unit. We conducted the work from our offices in Aberdeen and onsite in West Africa.
MODU Upgrade Project
One of our client's jack-up drilling units required repairs and upgrades, and the client wanted to perform the work in Denmark.
Definition
We defined the project prior to project approval in terms of overall strategy, scope of work development and order of magnitude costing and scheduling.
Reactivation of Semi-submersible Drilling Rig
Our client wanted to assess the amount of work, time and cost to repair and reactivate a cold stacked semi-submersible drilling rig, in Scotland.
Definition
We defined the scope of work schedule and budget of the reactivation and repair of the project for the unit.
Land Rig Construction in China
Our client was about to begin a construction program of 50 land rigs in Chengdu, China, and wanted as far a practicable approach to the construction using a production line strategy.
Planning Advisory
We provided advice during the planning phase of the construction. Our project specialists worked with our client's project personnel in Houston, Texas and Chengdu, China to deliver the planning.

Our client commissioned for construction two 6th generation deepwater semi-submersible drilling units at DSME Shipyard, Korea.
Audit
We performed independent assurance that the projects were being managed and controlled within the expectations of the senior management as set out in the program earlier developed by us. We conducted early project audits in Korea to assess the level of implementation of the projects control systems, procedures, and contract specifications.
Offshore Drilling Tender
Our Client had recently purchased an offshore drilling tender barge. The barge was under charter to a major E&P company in SE Asia and required repair and reactivation for the charter contract. The previous owner was responsible for planning and execution of the repair and reactivation scope of work. Our client, on the other hand, would operate the rig after it left the shipyard.
