Project Background
| Client |
: |
A Major E&P Operator
|
|
Project
|
: |
Field development off of
the West African coastline. |
| Situation |
: |
The project required that upgrades be made to a 5th
generation drilling rig including tree handling and accommodation prior
to going on contract.
|
Èpeus was asked to identify and analyse the risk
profile of the entire project including both the operator sponsored
upgrades and the drilling contractor work. Then determine whether the
contractors’ project team could achieve its targets and begin transit to
Africa in time to meet the contract start date.
The Findings
The review was conducted at the beginning of December 2004 and
revealed that due to the risks that the project faced the planned
transit start date of 26th April reflected a 10% probability of target
achievement with a more likely end date being the 3rd of May 2005
instead.
Project Outcome
The rig left the dock to begin transit on the 3rd May 2005
reflecting the predicted outcome from the Success Ènabler study
conducted during the planning phase of the project.
Success Ènabler has been designed specifically to
enable you to more accurately plan projects and take account of
previously unidentified events and impacts increasing your chances of
successful outcome to your project.
