Paul J. Franzetti

Paul is responsible for the administrative and legal affairs of the firm, including contractual matters, risk management, business planning, compliance, and ethics issues. Paul also consults with firm clients on issues whose treatment would benefit from a legal perspective.
Paul has practiced law for over 30 years, primarily handling and assisting in complex general business litigation in the US and international arbitrations. For a time, Paul engaged in a corporate securities practice with a major firm, and has also previously worked in-house with a Fortune 100 company doing business internationally.
Among other things, the litigation and arbitration matters in which Paul was involved concerned claims arising out of design-and-build construction contracts, as well as general contracts, securities issues, technology transfer agreements, employment discrimination, partnership issues, and oil and gas title issues. His corporate securities practice included representation of both issuing companies and investment bankers, and his in-house practice has included a variety of matters.
The companies that Paul has represented operate in a broad range of diverse industries, including onshore and offshore energy, pipelines, construction, engineering, manufacturing, finance, commodities trading, land development, and biotechnology.
Paul graduated with high honours from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Accounting, and with high honours from the University of Texas School of Law.
Paul's previous in-house experience included Sedco, Inc. (one of several predecessor companies of Transocean), as well as non-drilling subsidiary companies of Schlumberger.
